Dr. Clara M. Choo is originally from Toronto, Canada. She specializes in glaucoma and cataract surgery.
Dr. Choo completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Biological Basis of Behavior. She went on to attend medical school at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. She has received several research grants, awards and merit-based scholarships, including the Mayo Clinic scholarship, throughout the course of her education.
After spending a transitional year at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, Dr. Choo completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She was chosen to be Chief Resident her final year, as well as the Advocacy Ambassador for the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Choo recently completed a glaucoma fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Dr. Choo has authored numerous abstracts/publications and presented at several national conferences. She is actively involved in volunteer activities and mission trips.
Dr. Choo’s professional affiliations include the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Glaucoma Society, the Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
In her free time, Dr. Choo enjoys running, hiking, yoga and travel.
